Lagom es una palabra sueca que significa moderación, utilizar sólo la cantidad correcta. ¿Consideras que utilizas lo justo y necesario de las cosas en tu vida? La idea de que más es mejor está profundamente arraigada entre nosotros. Compramos las cosas que creemos bonitas, seguimos las modas, somos bombardeados por innumerables anuncios. Al final, poseemos demasiadas cosas que no son necesarias. ¿Realmente necesitamos tanta ropa, tanta que algunas prendas no se usan más de una o dos veces? ¿Realmente necesitamos ese elegante aparato que tiene tantas funciones que nunca usaremos? Tal vez deberíamos considerar probar una filosofía de vida minimalista.

El minimalismo pretende reducir las cosas que son innecesarias y persigue cosas que son importantes y dignas. El concepto de «menos es más» es fundamental en el estilo de vida minimalista. Esto puede sonar como un pensamiento zen, pero en realidad no es difícil de entender el concepto. Convertirnos en minimalistas nos permite tener un espacio más grande para nuestro bienestar físico, mental y espiritual. A continuación se presentan los beneficios de participar en esta filosofía de vida minimalista.

1. Gastar menos dinero. Al cambiar nuestro hábito de compra para comprar sólo las cosas que son esenciales, podemos eliminar un montón de gastos innecesarios y aliviar mucho nuestra carga financiera.

2. Ser más feliz. El estilo de vida minimalista nos permite centrarnos solo en las cosas que importan. Por lo tanto, tenemos menos asuntos que nos preocupen. Además, estamos más agradecidos por las pequeñas cosas de la vida cuando poseemos menos cosas.

3. Descubrirnos a nosotros mismos. A través del proceso de simplificación material, podemos reconocer lo que queremos y valoramos más y por lo tanto tenemos una mejor comprensión y una mayor consciencia de nosotros mismos.

4. Reducir nuestra huella de carbono. ¡Poseer y comprar menos productos implica que consumimos menos recursos y creamos menos residuos también!

Lagom is a Swedish word which means moderation, just the right amount. Do you consider yourself have the right amount of things in your life? The idea of more is good is ingrained deeply among us. We buy the things that we think beautiful, we follow the trend, we are well feeded by countless advertisements. At the end, we own too many things that are not necessary. Do we really need so many clothes that some of them are not being worn more than twice? Do we really need that fancy device that has so many functions we will never use? Perhaps we should all consider to have a try on minimalist living philosophy.

Minimalism is reducing things that are unnecessary and pursue on things that are important and worthy. The concept of “less is more” is proposed in minimalist lifestyle. This may sound like a zen thought, but actually it is not hard to understand the concept. Become a minimalist enable us to have larger room for our living both physically, mentally and spiritual well-being. Below are the benefits of taking part in minimalist living philosophy.

1. Reduce financial burden. By changing our shopping habit to buy only things that are essential, we can eliminate a bunch of unnecessary expenses which can lighten our financial burden.

2. Become happier. Minimalist lifestyle allows us to focus only on things that matter. Hence, we have fewer affair to worry about. Besides, we will become more grateful on the little things in life when we own fewer stuffs.

3. Self-discovery. Through the process of declutter, we can recognize what we want and value the most and hence have a better understanding and more aware of ourselves.

4. Lower carbon footprint. Owning and buying less products imply that we consume less resources and create less waste too!
